This is what I managed to grow this year. I am very happy with the results, its much better than my 2009 effort. So far I have raised £130, but as a team we raised £1,520, which is fantastic for 9 people!

I have to admit it was harder getting donations this year, as there are so many more men taking part. Everyone I spoke to knew several people who were doing it, so the money had already been donated. This isn’t a problem as the money goes to the same great place.

Globally almost £70 million has been raised in 2011, and I am sure more will come in. Its amazing to be part of something so simple to raise money for something so worthy.

It’s that time again when men all over the country decide to grow a tasty mo for charity.

Movember helps raise money for prostate and testicular cancer research. During the month of Movember we grow a moustache and have some fun raising money.

I did this 2 years ago and raised £205. My attempt was good, but my mo was not very impressive due mainly to me being ginger and having fair hair, so it wasn’t very noticable to begin. To this end I decided to grow a beard for a month before Movember to give myself a fighting chance of having  decent mo.

Tomorrow morning I will have a long over due shave. Its not been very nice, its itchy and messy and my wife hates it. I might even get a barber to give my mo some love.

A little bit late posting this (whats new!) but this was my Mo for Movember on the last day of November. I raised £190 online, with another £15 collected in cash. I am growing a moustache this year for Movember.  I have decided to put down my razor for one month (November) and help raise awareness and funds for men’s health – specifically prostate cancer.

What many people don’t appreciate is that one man dies every hour of prostate cancer in the UK, more than 35,000 men will be diagnosed this year and that prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK.  Facts like these have convinced me I should get involved and I am hoping that you will support me.
