Dooza Lighting
Partying has played a large part of my adult life, more so than my youth, most of it has been behind a lighting console in a club or festival. This is what I do, its me, its my passion, its great!
Long weekend, but a good weekend
Jul 9th
Its been a while (again) but I have a good reason…Till The Cows Come Home 2007 … it took place this weekend gone, and was pretty special (again). DiscoPete and myself was asked By Ben, Gandy and D-Arcy to provide a full lightshow for this 2 day festival.
Its special for a number of reasons, promotion is word of mouth and Myspace, everyone who goes knows someone else and they know someone else, so its got a great atmosphere. The people behind the festival are doing it for the right reasons, and it takes them a lot of effort to make it all happen, but they do it so well, and if you guys are reading, please keep doing it! Another reason is the music, the main stage is for the bands, with DJs filling in between. There were some really great bands, actually they were all really good. A few names I remember were P-Hex, Innercity Pirates, The Shadow Project (I liked these so much I bought a CD), Emit (minus cow suits, boo!), Whisky Cats, and many more that I can’t put my finger on.
I will post some photos once I get them off my camera. Its back to work tomorrow, not too bad, got plenty of sleep last night and today.
For the geeky one out there, I will post technical info about the show we did on my Dooza Lighting Blog. (Now updated with the info)
Next up is the Glade Festival. Weekend after next, so need to get lots sorted. Its going to be another amazing weekend, loads of hard work, and Loo’s Birthday on the Saturday, so will be really cool. If your there come and find me in the evenings working the lights in the Sancho Panza house tent.

I have been slack at keeping this blog up to date, not sure if anyone reads it really, but will keep on posting from time to time.

Till The Cows Come Home was excellent, a really good time was had by all. DiscoPete and I arrived at about 10.30pm on Friday, and continued to setup until about 3am. It was a slow setup, but we got there in the end. We had a few final bits to do before the bands started. They were late starting anyway, but the bands were really good.
The football was shown on a projector, but due to the extreme heat the projector over heated every 10 minutes. It took a few minutes to reboot, and showed a 15 second count down before finally putting the video back on. Luckily the audio was still working on the brand new 10k Peavy rig. Shame about the result, they did there best.
The evening flew by and we put on a great show. DiscoPete did all of the programming, he did a great job and we have been invited back next year.
There were about 400 people I think, it was a decent crowd, really up for it and really nice people.
It was a very tiring weekend, but well worth it. Make sure you come along next year, the bands are great, and so are the DJs, the location is amazing, and so are the people…need I say more?

I am just about ready for this small festival, just need to load the car in the morning and go to work. After work the fun begins. It should be a lovely weekend, if your there come and say hello.

My collection of lights is fairly large, I just wish I had time to make more of them work
My main light show now consists of:
4 x Eurolite TS-150 Scans
2 x Abstract Galactic Moons (with 2 more being restored)
2 x Abstract Galactic Stars
2 x Abstract Gladiators
4 x Geni Strobes
1 x Zero 88 Diablo Lighting Desk
I have 2 x Powerdrive Easy Hoist Stands, each can lift 60Kg up to 3.3m. I also have 2 x 2m Trussing. I want to get some more but dont have much space at the moment, so borrow other peoples.
In storage I also have 4 x Ryger Challenger 250 scans, all flightcased, complete with controller, DMX converter, manuals and spare parts. These are old, and need some attention, as they are well used. These are for sale if anyone fancies a small project.
